Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Submits Proposed Cabinet List for Ratification
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has taken a significant step towards forming his new cabinet by sending a list of proposed cabinet members to the Lagos State House of Assembly for ratification.
While the Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly has not officially confirmed the submission, sources reveal that the list consists of a mix of both familiar faces from the previous administration and new appointees.
It appears that several members of the immediate-past cabinet will not be returning to serve alongside the governor during his second and final term in office.
As of now, the names of the nominees on the list have not been disclosed by Mr. Akosile, the governor’s spokesperson.
This action aligns with the provisions of the 1999 constitution as amended, which mandate the president and governors to submit the names of their proposed ministers or commissioners within 60 days of assuming office for confirmation by the Senate or state House of Assembly.
Governors from various states, including Ogun, Gombe, Plateau, Benue, Kwara, Adamawa, Kaduna, and others, have also submitted their respective lists to their state Houses of Assembly.
