Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, has tested positive for the coronavirus.
His status was confirmed on Saturday evening by Akin Abayomi, Lagos commissioner for health.
The governor, who had previous tested positive over the past months, had recently gone into isolation after one of his aides contracted the virus.
Lagos currently has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus infections in the country, with over 20,000 cases in the state.
