BREAKING: Scores killed as herdsmen strike in Itakpa, near Otukpo in Benue

Several persons have been killed and many others injured after suspected herdsmen attacked Itakpa, a border community in Obi LGA of Benue State.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that Itakpa shares boundary with Otukpo.

It was learnt that the gunmen, armed to their teeth invaded the community around 7pm in Sunday, shooting and setting houses ablaze.

Residents told our reporter that three Idoma boys were killed while unknown numbers of Igede natives were massacred.

The source said among the victims were two members of the Homeland Defence group and another person from Akpaegede.

He said after the attack, the gunmen fled.
