Major stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and alleged loyalist of Senator George Akume had on Friday September 7th, 2018 defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Gboko Local government area of Benue.
A source disclosed that the decampees are staunch supporters of the former governor adding that “the people who have been sustaining Senator George Akume’s political strategies in Gboko are Fmr SSG Benue state/fmr DG Campaign organization to Senator George Akume during senatorial his bid, Dr Bemsen Benjamin Melladu, Fmr three times House of Representatives member Dr Terngu Tsegba, Fmr campaign DG to senator Akume during his Governorship bid Arch TyoapineTsegba, Hon Mrs Lydia Ngohemba Agaigbe BSHA, Hon Iortim Atsenda Ashwa, Barr Isaac Iorember Nyomshan, Hon Nahan Zenda fmr Chairman gbk, Hon Joseph kuku fmr two times Vice chairman of Gboko LGA, Atiir Shagar fmr reps member, all described Senator Akume as a leader without vision, so he needs to come back and rest.”
Barrister Orker jev, a senatorial aspirant of the PDP who graced the Decamping ceremony thanked the decampees saying that they have made right decision.
According to him (Orker Jev): “The primary aim of government is to protect lives and property, some of us were campaigning for APC in 2014 with hope that things will get better not worse. Our lives have taken preference to cows, if you remembered when INEC announced Buhari as the president elect, tears of joy rolled my cheeks, suddenly all the promises made during the campaign never saw the light of the day, I was left with no option but to go home and apologized to my people.
