BREAKING: SGF George Akume breaks silence amid resignation rumour
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has broken his silence following widespread media reports alleging that he has resigned from office.
Social media went abuzz on Saturday night with claims that Akume had stepped down and that Hadiza Musa had been appointed as his replacement.
However, in a swift reaction, Akume, through his Special Adviser on Public Affairs, Terrence Kuanam, dismissed the report as fake news.
“It is fake news. We are issuing a statement to that effect immediately,” Kuanam told our reporter.
He added that the Office of the SGF will soon release an official statement to clarify the situation and put the matter to rest.
