BREAKING: South-East governors convene on Nnamdi Kanu release, sit-at-home

The South-East Governor Forum, comprising the five governors of the southeastern states, gathered at the Governor’s House in Enugu on Thursday to discuss pressing issues impacting the region.

This marked the inaugural meeting for Alex Otti (Abia), Professor Chukwuma Soludo (Anambra), Senator Hope Uzodinma (Imo), Dr. Peter Mbah (Enugu), and Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi) since their inauguration into office on May 29, 2023.

Key topics of discussion included the impact of the Monday sit-at-home on the socio-political and economic dynamics of the Southeast region. Additionally, the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, who has been in custody of the Department of State Services for two years, featured prominently on the meeting’s agenda.
