Tension is currently mounting on students of Benue State University, BSU, Makurdi, following the postponement of the first semester General Studies examinations.
IDOMA VOICE gathered that the students were in school Monday morning, 7 June, for the first semester General Studies, GST, examination, but were told that the exams have been shifted which caused panicking among the students as they fear for another strike.
Recall that the school recently went on what the management called mid semester break which ended last week. Initially it was reported to be an internal ASUU strike but was later debunked by the BSU ASUU chairman who claimed the union was protesting and not striking. Thereafter, the school management announced the institution has embanked on a one week mid semester break.
Our correspondent gathered that the first semester GST examinations have been shifted to July.
However, it was also gathered from reliable sources within the files of the school that the main examinations will remain as earlier slated.
The main examinations will commence on Thursday 10 June.
The GST examinations will now hold after the last paper of the main exams.
