BREAKING: Tension as police arrest Agada in Benue

Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State is currently gripped by anxiety following the reported arrest of Hon. Samuel Agada, a member representing the Ogbadibo state constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly.

Reports indicate that Agada was taken into custody after an incident with the police while he was trying to secure the release of a detained constituent. Witnesses claim that Agada was unjustly treated by the police, sparking outrage among his aides, who protested the handling of the situation.

Speculations suggest that Agada’s arrest may be rooted in the ongoing political strife within the state.
Known for his impartiality, Agada has maintained connections with various political groups in his constituency without favoring any side.

Comrade Ameh Ojema, a youth leader in Ogbadibo, condemned the arrest, stating, “Hon. Agada was performing his duties for a constituent. He has always supported his people and has remained neutral in the political conflicts in the area.” Ojema believes the arrest is politically motivated, hinting at possible involvement from a faction of the Benue All Progressives Congress (APC).

Echoing this sentiment, another local youth, Mr. Joseph Udo, expressed his disapproval on social media, labeling the arrest as politically driven. “There is no basis for this arrest. Hon. Samuel Agada Awuchi is a responsible and upright individual,” Udo posted on Facebook.

When contacted, Benue Police Command Spokesperson SP Catherine Anene said she lacked detailed information but suggested that Agada might have been arrested on charges of assaulting police officers.
