BREAKING: Tension as suspected herdsmen invade Anambra varsity community, kill scores

Residents of Igbariam community in Anambra state, were on Monday thrown into panicking after gunmen suspected to be killer herdsmen invaded the varsity community.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that the hoodlums stormed the town which is close to the Odumegwu Ojukwu University, in their numbers in the early hours of on Monday, shooting sporadically and causing mayhem.

The alarming situation forced residents especially student to vacate the area.

The cause of the attack could not be ascertained but according to one Abdulbaki Jari who tweeted via his verified Twitter page, it was reprisal attack saying that a Fulani family were murdered in Igbariam.

Tweeting via his handle @Bahaushee, Abdulbaki Jari wrote; “A Fulani family have been killed in Igbariam, Anambara state near Odumegwu Ojukwu University, PPRO confirms to BBC. The family have been living close to student lodges for a year without any incident, some students confirmed. Many have since left the place in fear of reprisals.”
