Makurdi the Benue state capital was thrown into pandemonium after the Nigerian military launched airstrikes against bandits’ terrorizing the outskirts of the town.
According to a local online news medium, Citizen TV, the military is targeting bandits’ hideouts in the town.
It would be recalled that the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, had at the wake of hoodlums attacked on an IDPs center in the state capital, said over 70 people were killed in Makurdi Local Government alone by bandits in a space of two weeks. Since then the attacks have continue to escalate.
Recently there were also reports that the military in Makurdi neutralized bandits in some communities in the outskirts of the town.
The latest military bombardment is however, yet to be confirmed.
