President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho as the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA). The appointment was conveyed in a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
Alongside Dr. Dantsoho’s appointment, President Tinubu has also approved Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as the Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
Dr. Dantsoho brings a wealth of experience to his new role, holding a Doctorate degree in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom, and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, United Kingdom. He has previously served in various capacities within the Nigerian Ports Authority, including as Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager at Onne Port, and Principal Manager in Tariff & Billing.
Senator Adeyeye, the newly appointed Board Chairman, is a distinguished lawyer, journalist, and politician. He has previously served as Minister of State for Works and represented Ekiti South Senatorial District in the Senate.
President Tinubu has expressed confidence in the new leadership of the NPA, urging them to uphold excellence in their duties to enhance port efficiency and drive positive industry outcomes.
