BREAKING: Tinubu signs bill to establish North-Central Development Commission (NCDC)

President Bola Tinubu has taken a significant step towards fostering development in Nigeria’s North-Central region by signing a bill into law to establish the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC).
This new commission is expected to address the region’s ongoing challenges, including insecurity, farmer/herder clashes, banditry, kidnapping, and flood disasters.
Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, made the announcement today in the Senate chamber. The NCDC is set to drive economic growth, promote infrastructure rehabilitation, and support reconstruction efforts in the region.
While full details of the bill are still being revealed, the establishment of the NCDC marks a pivotal moment in the government’s efforts to uplift the North-Central region.
This follows similar initiatives in other regions, including the North-West and South-East, with the North-West Development Commission aimed at tackling infrastructure damage, poverty, and environmental issues.
The creation of the NCDC is a positive development, offering hope for a new era of progress and prosperity in the North-Central region. As the commission begins its work, it will be crucial to observe how it addresses the area’s specific challenges and fosters sustainable development.
