Tribunal ruling: Labour Party loses in Rivers Guber petition

The Rivers State Governorship Election petition has dismissed the petition lodged by Beatrice Itubo, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, contesting the victory of Simnalaye Fubara from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.

The ongoing proceedings at the Abuja-based Tribunal involve the petitions filed by both LP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Tonye Cole.

It is worth noting that Beatrice Itubo, who sought a declaration of victory from the tribunal, secured the third position in the election.

Further updates on this matter will be provided in due course.
