BREAKING: Troops rescue 180 kidnapped students from bandits’ den in Kaduna
Troops of the Nigerian army have rescued 180 kidnap victims mostly students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka in Igabi local government area of Kaduna state.
The commissioner for internal security and home affairs in Kaduna, Samuel Aruwan, who made the disclosure on his Facebook page on Friday, March 12, said that the rescue operation was carried out by troops of the Nigerian Army.
The commissioner revealed that 130 male students, 42 female students, and eight staff members were set free from the kidnappers’ den.
He went on to state that some students are still nowhere to be found at the moment.
He wrote; “The troops successfully rescued 180 citizens; 42 female students, eight staff and 130 male students. However, about 30 students, a mix of males and females, are yet to be accounted for.
“Some of the rescued students were injured and presently receiving medical attention at a military facility.
“Pictures of some of the rescued persons, and the broken perimeter fence, are attached to this update.”
