Update on DeiDei building material market crisis
Fresh facts have emerged on what led to the outbreak of the crisis in the building material market at DeiDei along Kubwa expressway in Abuja on Wednesday.
IDOMA VOICE reports that several properties were burnt in the melee.
Speaking on what really happened, an eyewitness, who gave his name as @BeatriceOtu2, said problem started after an Igbo lady was allegedly killed by an okada, whom he claimed is Hausa by tribe.
He said the suspect after killing the lady attempted to run but was apprehended by a mob.
He tweeted, “An Hausa okada killed an Igbo lady who just finished eating in a restaurant in a new site and tried to run away I DeiDei new site and was caught that’s how d problem started cos I was repairing my car close to d place it happened we all ran away.”
At the time of filing this report, security operatives have arrived at the scene to calm the situation.
