BREAKING: Yakubu hands over to Mu’azu as INEC chairman, five commissioners bow out

Mahmood Yakubu on Monday handed over as head of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This happened on Monday at the national headquarters of INEC in Abuja.

Five other national commissioners also resigned.

Ahmed Mu’azu, a national commissioner, will assume office in acting capacity.

There retired Air Vice Marshal in charge of INEC electoral logistics committee.

Mu’azu will be in the position pending the confirmation of Senate confirmation or otherwise.

Yakubu was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in October 2015 and assumed office on November 9, 2015.
