Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has come hard on former Senate President, David Mark, for conniving with northern leaders to manipulate his chances of picking the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate during the party convention in May.
Speaking on Friday with some journalists, Wike said Mark, who was the chairman of the convention committee denied him the opportunity of emerging candidate by bending the party’s constitution at the convention ground.
He said, “You remember that during the convention, I spoke last and when I spoke, the ovation was thunderous and it became a danger to them. To tell you that I was disappointed by the former senate president, Senator Dr David Mark.
“All these were setup to manipulate the system against me. He (Mark) was the chairman of the convention committee and what happened that day has never happened in the history of any election.”
