BREAKING:#EdoDecides: EFCC arrests suspected vote buyers in Egor LGA

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended several individuals suspected of engaging in vote-buying at Ward 7 in Egor Local Government Area, Edo South.

According to reports, the arrests occurred during a surveillance operation aimed at curbing electoral malpractices as the Edo governorship election unfolded. The suspects were allegedly caught in the act of offering cash incentives to voters in exchange for their votes.

The EFCC has emphasized its commitment to ensuring a free and fair electoral process, warning that it will not tolerate any form of electoral corruption. The agency has urged the public to report any suspicious activities related to vote-buying or other electoral offenses.

The arrested individuals are currently in custody and are expected to face charges related to electoral fraud. The EFCC reiterated its dedication to upholding the integrity of the electoral process in Nigeria.
