BREAKONG: Gunmen kill 3 custom officials in military checkpoint in Rivers

Unknown gunmen on Sunday killed three officials of Nigerian Customs at military checkpoint within Omuaga axis of Elele-Owerre, close to the Port Harcourt International Airport, in Rivers State.

It was learnt that the hoodlums also destroyed the checkpoint and other property in the area, after killing their victims.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that members of local vigilante, OSPAC in the community responded to the emergency but before they could arrived the armed men had finished the operation.

“The incident happened 12 midnight when the armed hoodlums stormed a checkpoint manned by customs officials in Isiokpo where they killed their victims, burnt down cars and went away without any interference,” Daily Post quoted a resident of the community as saying.

The Rivers State police command is yet to issue any statement on the incident as at the time of filling this report.
