Brig. Gen Numbere visits Army Estate in Otukpo, assures infrastructures will soon be completed

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Army Post Service Housing Development Limited, Brig Gen TT Numbere, this weekend, paid a familiarisation visit to Otukpo where he met with Rt. Hon. George Alli, Executive Chairman, Otukpo Local Government Council.

Accompanied by the Secretary, PHDL, Barr. Paul Ankwa Eden, Brig Gen Numbere said he was in Otukpo to see the level of works done the site, having taken over company’s affairs as Managing Director from Brig Gen Mahe Bashir who has since retired.

The MD/CEO assured, “works on the 7.5 billion Naira will resume soon”.

Hon. George Alli welcomed the General to Otukpo and thanked him for the visit. He also pledged “the commitment of Otukpo Local Government Council towards all that is required for the completion of the project. This project is so important to for us in Otukpo”.

In the same vein, Air Vice Marshall Monday Morgan (Rtd), Chairman, BETONIQ (WEST) NIGERIA LTD, the company handling the construction works, appreciated the MD/CEO for the visit.

AVM Morgan called on “Otukpo people home and abroad, to come out en masse to subscribe to the project. There is no gainsaying the fact that this project is for the collective benefits of all Idomas”.

Speaking further, Barr. Paul Edeh, said, “Now is the time for Idoma sons and daughters to embrace this development driven investment. It is a rare offer, no local government in Nigeria before now, had ever seen this kind of project, only state capitals”.

It will be recalled that on Thursday, August 16, 2018, in Abuja, Rt. Hon. George Alli and AVM. Monday Morgan, put pen on papers for the Nigerian Army Post Service Housing Estate, with the management of PHDL.

History was made when Otukpo, the traditional headquarter and pride of Idoma Nation became the first town in Nigeria, outside a state capital, to benefit from this multi billion naira investment by the Nigerian Army since the inception of the scheme in 1996. The Nigerian Army has 28 estates in 16 States capital across Nigeria including Makurdi.
