Broadcast Journalist, Jacob Zango buried in Kaduna

Broadcast journalist Jacob Haruna Zango was laid to rest on Friday in his hometown of Abuyab, located in the Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Zango, a staff member of the Kaduna State Media Corporation, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, following a brief illness at Kafanchan General Hospital.

The funeral drew loved ones, friends, media colleagues, and well-wishers who gathered in Abuyab to honor the late journalist.

During the service, Comrade Asma’u Yawo Halilu, chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna State Council, expressed gratitude for Zango’s contributions both in his professional role and as a council member. She also praised the solidarity shown by council members in times of need, urging journalists to continue fostering a supportive community.

Pastor Makurvet Dawuda, who officiated the burial, emphasized the importance of reflecting on life after death and living in harmony with one another.

Jacob Zango was born on April 17, 1968, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Zango Bwayin Kura in Abuyab, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
