The Benue State University Management has come hard on those who shared on social media some pictures showing bushy part of the university campus.
The university described them as mischievous and ignorant.
Tser Vanger Principal Assistant Registrar, (Information & Public Relations), in a statement said the bushy parts have been taken care of.
The statement obtained by IDOMA VOICE reads below.
It has come to the attention of the Benue State University Management that, pictures of some bushy portions of the University Campus have been posted on some social media platforms insinuating same as the present state of the entire University Campus.
Management the Benue State University hereby makes it known to those who have circulated such pictures and those ignorant of it that in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic, all Universities in Nigeria were directed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to proceed on a total shut down of the Campuses.
Consequently, comprehensive fumigation of the BSU campus was undertaken which was followed by decontamination of the campus some weeks after.
As a result of the closure and in conformity with the COVID-19 Protocols, staff were not expected to be on the campus, including cleaners.
However, following the ease of the lockdown, the cleaners have resumed services and have since finished weeding of the western wing of the campus and moved to the Eastern Wing where the exercise has been largely completed.
The portion whose pictures have been circulated is the one which remains and where the Cleaners are about to round up in the next few hours.
By sneaking into the University for the mischievous exercise, the authors have also made themselves possible suspects in case of security breaches on the campus during the period.
