Buhari appoints Prof Emmanuel Adanu as Chairman Presidential Committee on Flood Prevention

President Muhammad Buhari has approved the appointment of Idoma born professor Emmanuel Adanu as the Chairman of the presidential committee on flood prevention.
While inaugurating the committee the president charged them to bring their enormous wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of this onerous responsibility.

According to the president, the devastation caused by flood this year and its attendant casualties requires swift response from the Federal Government of Nigeria to put machinery in motion and mechanism in place to nip the canker worm in the bud.

Buhari added that Emmanuel Adanu headship of the high powered committee on flood prevention was attributed to his sterling leadership qualities, track records and high level of professional excellence exhibited by Adanu in his previous leadership positions.

The president urged the Adanu Emmanuel led committee to swing into action with a view to tackling the persistent devastations Occasioned by flood.

Until his appointment, Professor Adanu Emmanuel was the Director General National Water Resources Institute, Kaduna.
A former Director of Dam and reservoir Operations Federal Ministry of Water resources Abuja.

He hails from Odugbo Edikwu ward 2, Apa local government area of Benue state.
