Buhari blows hot, vow to rid Katsina of banditry, Kidnapping attacks

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday in Dutsinma, Katsina State, vowed to ensure that Katsina State is free from banditry and kidnapping. Buhari who is the visitor to Federal University, Dutsinma, made the vow at the varsity’s fourth convocation ceremony, held at the temporary site of the university.

He maintained that the war against banditry and criminality involves several covert security operations not easily seen by the citizens; hence the need to reassure the citizens of Katsina State that something urgent is being done to address their plight.

Represented at the ceremony by a former deputy governor of Katsina State, Professor Hafiz Abubakar, the President also reiterated that the federal government will continue to rescue the state and other states of the federation from the climate of fear being orchestrated by the bandits.

“I want to assure the people of Katsina State that the federal government will rescue them as well as other states from banditry and kidnapping. We are bent on subduing the situation and creating enabling environments for lawfully abiding citizens to go about their legitimate business without fear or molestation.’’
