The Federal government has congratulated Nigerian music ambassadors, Wizkid and Burna Boy over their Grammy awards win.
IDOMA VOICE reports that Burna Boy won the Best Global Music Album for his 5th studio album “Twice As Tall”, while Wizkid won the Best Music Video award for his collaboration “Brown Skin Girl” with Beyonce and Blue Ivy.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, sends the congratulatory message to Grammy award winners Burna Boy and Wizkid for bringing home two separate Grammy awards.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Monday, Lai Mohammed says the award is a befitting hard work of the two Afrobeat biggest in Africa.
He further stresses that the awards represent the acceptance of the Afrobeat genre of music that has given Nigerian’s increasing dominance of the music world.
Lai says he’s hopeful that winning the awards by the two music stars would spur them to greater achievement and also serve as a means of inspiration to many others.
