Buhari not for everybody—Benue Mothers
Women from Benue State under the auspices of Benue Concerned Mothers, have decried the silence of President Muhammadu Buhari over the unprovoked killings of Benue people by Fulani herdsmen saying the President has shown he is for some people and not for everybody.
The group stated this in a press conference it organized in Makurdi.
Addressing the press, leader of the group, Mrs Rebecca Apedzan said the failure of President Buhari to call his kinsmen to stop attacking, kiliing and raping of innocent Nigerians is a clear indication the President is not for all Nigerians but for some.
” From all indications, President Muhammadu Buhari is for somebody and not for everybody, contrary to his words on May 29, 2015 when he took the oath of office.” the group stated.
While the Concerned Benue Mothers said no to open grazing, reopening of Grazing Reserves and any similar policy, it however, expressed shock why the Federal Government would not respect the decision of the Governors but insist on grazing reserves creation.
The group demanded among other things that President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently address the nation and caution Fulani herdsmen to stop the killings, to announce the cancellation of his plan to impose grazing reserves on Nigerians and instead evolve a National Ranching Policy.
The Benue Concerned Mothers commended Governor Samuel Ortom for standing and defending his people, assuring him of their unalloyed support towards his administration’s success.
