President Muhammadu Buhari has said he is “very disturbed” by the ruling of the Supreme Court, which has barred the All Progressives Congress (APC), from fielding candidates in the general elections in Rivers State.
Speaking at the APC Presidential rally in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Buhari promised to respect the institutions of the country.
“I am very very disturbed that we are not allowed to field candidates in some of our elections. I have no doubt I got elected but I have to respect the institutions that I inherited.
“I assure you and I appeal to you that you should be patient because we are going to ensure that justice is done in this country,” he said.
