Buhari returns to Twitter months after leaving office

Just three months after stepping down from power, former President Muhammadu Buhari made his first appearance on Twitter. President Buhari had been absent from social media since his departure from office on May 29, 2023. However, he recently returned to the microblogging platform to extend his heartfelt wishes to Muslim faithful on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.

In his tweet, Buhari called upon Muslims in Nigeria and around the world to follow the noble teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions. He emphasized the significance of self-introspection and the realization that everyone is a migrant in this world.

Former President Buhari also urged for prayers for Nigeria and emphasized the importance of all citizens adhering to the collective good while avoiding actions and utterances that could be detrimental to national unity.
