Bundesliga: Boniface makes history as Bayer Leverkusen defeat Cologne

Victor Boniface became the fifth Bayer Leverkusen player to score seven goals within seven league games on Sunday night.

The 22-year-old showcased his prowess, finding the net in Die Werkself’s commanding 3-0 victory against Cologne at the BayArena.

This achievement places him in a league of legends, as only Herbert Waas, Ulf Kirsten, Patrick Helmes, and Lucas Alario had achieved a similar seven-goal record after seven games in Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga history.

Boniface made his mark by scoring the third goal for Xabi Alonso’s side in the 67th minute.

The robust striker has seamlessly transitioned into the Bundesliga since his move from Belgian Pro League outfit Union St Gilloise during the summer.

Currently, the Nigerian international has impressively tallied nine goals in 10 appearances across all competitions for Bayer Leverkusen.
