TRIBUTE TO AN ICON – CHIEF (BARR) AMALI ADOYA AMALI
The Okpotuche community was left devastated by the sad news of the passing of an icon – a true ambassador of the Idoma nation, former Chairman of the Club, and the immediate past President of Ochetoha K’Idoma – Chief (Barr) Amali Adoya Amali, on Monday, January 6, 2025.
In the quiet tapestry of life, where each thread carries the weight of love and legacy, the impact of one man has been woven deeply into the hearts of those who knew him. Our beloved ‘Doya,’ as many called him, was not merely a man but a phenomenon – a generous soul whose wisdom and passion for the development of the Idoma nation permeated the very fabric of our existence.
As an elder statesman and senior member of Okpotuche Club, you led by example and showed unmatched commitment to a prosperous and secure Idoma nation, deploying your rich expertise in addressing security challenges during your tenure as President of Ochetoha K’Idoma Worldwide.
As Chairman of our Membership Committee, you led many young men and women of Idoma extraction to join Okpotuche, strengthening the Club’s capability to meet its objective of advancing the growth and development of the Idoma nation.
In this moment of loss, the pain feels insurmountable. Yet, we find solace in the impact you made, and we will continue to advance your legacy of love and compassion, particularly your desire, as expressed during the launching of the Club’s Orphanage Home Project, to adequately secure the most vulnerable orphans through proper perimeter fencing of the facility and other initiatives that you championed at Okpotuche.
