Burial date of Nollywood actor, Saint Obi, venue announced

The family of the late Nollywood icon, Saint Obi, has revealed the funeral arrangements for the beloved actor. Saint Obi, who passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the age of 57 after battling a prolonged illness, will be laid to rest on Friday, August 18, in his hometown of Umuezealaeze, Alaenyi Ogwa, Imo State.

The funeral service and interment will take place at Saint Obi’s family home in Umuezealaeze, where family, friends, and fans will gather to pay their final respects to the veteran actor.

Prior to his passing, Saint Obi had relocated to Jos, the capital of Plateau State, to be with his siblings during his long and difficult battle with the ailment. His health condition had kept him in and out of the hospital for over two years.

Despite the actor’s significant contributions to the Nigerian film industry, the Actors Guild of Nigeria has not released an official statement about his death due to an alleged family disagreement.

As the Nollywood community mourns the loss of this iconic actor, preparations are underway to honor and bid farewell to the legendary Saint Obi on his final journey home.
