CAF announces venue, date for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations draw ceremony

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that the draw ceremony for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will take place at the Mohammed V National Theatre in Rabat, Morocco, on Monday, January 27.
Football fans worldwide can watch the live broadcast of the event on CAF’s official social media channels and partner broadcasters.
This draw will mark the official launch of AFCON 2025, where the 24 qualifying teams will be divided into six groups for the tournament’s first round. The top two teams from each group, along with the four best third-placed teams, will progress to the Round of 16.
The ceremony also serves as an opportunity for the participating nations to familiarize themselves with the match venues, training facilities, and hotel accommodations in Morocco ahead of the competition.
Key figures in African football, including federation heads, international media, and sports legends, are expected to attend the event.
The AFCON 2025 finals are scheduled to take place from Sunday, December 21, 2025, to Sunday, January 16, 2026. Côte d’Ivoire are the defending champions of the prestigious tournament.
