Nigerian defender, Calvin Bassey, is on the verge of completing a move to Premier League club Fulham during the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports News, Bassey, who is currently with Ajax, has reached an agreement in principle to join Fulham in a deal worth around £18 million.
In addition to Bassey, Fulham is also making progress in their pursuit of Southampton’s Mohammed Salisu, with both clubs nearing a £15 million agreement for the defender.
While the decision on Salisu’s move is yet to be finalized, personal terms are expected to play a role in sealing the deal.
Fulham has reportedly been interested in both players, but they seem to be edging closer to securing the signature of Calvin Bassey.
Ajax coach, Maurice Steijn, has advised Bassey to accept the offer from Fulham, which could potentially see the 23-year-old defender make his mark in the Premier League after joining Ajax from Rangers last year.
