CAN, Hausa/Fulani (Muslim), Igbo, Yoruba communities congratulates, identify with Hon. George Alli, others

The leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Muslim (Hausa/Fulani), Igbo and Yoruba communities in Otukpo have congratulated and identified with recently sworn-in Chairman of the Local Government Area Council, Rt. Hon. George Alli, all the elected councilors and appointees inaugurated on their victory as public office holders.

The leadership of CAN which was led by Pastor Adole presented a giant congratulatory card with a special wish and prayer to Hon. Alli after praying and reiterating confidence in the ‘Best Chairman in Benue State’ in the last dispensation.

The Muslim community consisting of the Hausa and Fulani natives in Idoma land which was led by the Sarkin Hausawa of Benue South, Alhaji Mallam Mamuda Dahiru also congratulated the LG boss and registered a complain about a certain committee from the secretariat that has prohibited their people from bringing sacks (bags) to into Otukpo market for sales.

According to Alhaji Dahiru: “This set of committee who claim to have come from the Local Government has restricted our people who bring sacks from Kano and other places into Otukpo to do business on the ground that the bags produced outside Benue is sold at a higher rate which is not true. They accused of people of extortion and inflation.

“We are glad when we heard of your re-election and we are here to officially congratulate you once again and urge you to please look into this matter for us”. The Muslim community leader added.

The Igbos and Yoruba leaders in the same vain thanked God for returning Hon. Alli as Otukpo LGA council chairman once again as the seek to be carried along by the Hon. Alli like he did in the previous administration. The community leaders also express hope in Alli to deliver on his campaign promises as well inculcate the none idigenes in his programmes so as to benefit from them including the Covid-19 palliatives from the state government.

Hon. Alli while reacting to the religious and ethnic leaders thanked them for their support over the years de he reaffirm his intention to always treat them fair at all times.

The Chairman also made it clear the he was not the one on sit in the past months as he apologize for any I’ll treatment carried out on them by anyone as he asked his secretary, Hon. Oyaje Egwa to note all points down so he can act opon them later.

He (George Alli) also reveal plans to start giving the ethic leaders monthly stipends as from August ending 2020 as a way of acknowledgement and recognition by the Local Government.
