In the latest Express Entry draw, IRCC invited 500 candidates with French language proficiency, requiring a minimum CRS score of 472. This follows a previous draw on September 26 where 3,000 candidates across all programs were invited with a minimum CRS score of 504.
Category-Based Selection Explained
Introduced in May, category-based selection focuses on specific attributes rather than overall CRS scores. Six new categories were created for in-demand occupations and newcomers with strong French-language abilities, including healthcare, STEM professions, trades, transport, and agriculture and agri-food.
Express Entry: An Overview
Express Entry is an application management system for economic immigration candidates, encompassing the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Each program evaluates and ranks candidates based on various factors using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), determining ITA eligibility. Eligibility varies depending on the specific program.
