Cardi B, the American rapper, has officially confirmed the end of her marriage with Offset, revealing during a recent Instagram live session to her 169 million followers that she has been single for a considerable period. The mother of two expressed that she had been contemplating sharing her relationship status but was uncertain about the best way to do so.
The announcement followed accusations by rapper Blueface, who claimed that Offset had been involved with his baby mama, Chrisean Rock. Offset vehemently denied the allegations, asserting that he had never engaged with Blueface’s baby mama in any way.
During her Instagram Live session, Cardi B shared, “I don’t think it [Blueface’s allegations against Offset] is true. I don’t care to find out because I’ve been single for a minute now.” She admitted her hesitation in disclosing the information earlier but felt compelled to do so now, stating, “But it [our marriage] has been like this for a minute now. I just wanna start 2024 like fresh. I don’t know but I’m curious for a new life; a new beginning.”
This revelation comes after Cardi B and Offset unfollowed each other on Instagram. The couple, who secretly married in 2017 and welcomed two children together, had previously experienced a publicized separation when Cardi B filed for divorce in September 2020, only to reconcile in October. In June 2023, Cardi B publicly confronted Offset after he claimed she had cheated on him.
