Gregory Obinna Ochiagha, Bishop Emeritus, Catholic Diocese of Orlu, Imo State, is dead.
Born in Ibeme on August 31, 1931, the late cleric was ordained Priest of Umuahia in 1960.
In 1980, he was elevated to Bishop of Orlu in Nigeria. Ochiagha retired in 2008.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference and the Catholic community in Nigeria.
He sympathised with Catholics in Orlu Diocese where the late cleric served as pioneer bishop and endeared himself to his parishioners.
Buhari noted that Bishop Ochiagha’s contributions to the spiritual growth of faithful during his decades of service will not be forgotten.
The President prayed that God will console the grieving Catholic Community, and grant peaceful rest to the soul of the revered bishop.
