Charles Oputa, a Nigerian musician and activist better known as Charly Boy, has called for applications on behalf of Sylvester Oputa, one of his sons, whom he says now needs a wife.
The 70-year-old father of nine children took to his Twitter page on Friday to share photos of Sylvester, whom he said is a “fireman and registered nurse” alongside a list of the criteria.
Charly Boy said interested ladies must be working graduates, who have acquired at least a masters’s degree.
He also said that the woman must know how to cook and not be any shorter than 5ft 10inchs.
The ace singer said he once had an altercation with Sylvester over the young man’s previous choice.
“Sylvester Oputa is a Fireman and a registered nurse. I dey look for wife for dis my fine son. I been tellam say the one e marry before no go work,” the singer wrote in Pidgin English.
“All applicants must be a graduate with a minimum of a Masters degree. E must get correct job. Must not be shorter dan 5ft 10inchs. Must know how to cook. Submit your pictures with ur application. Application fee 50k.”
Charly boy, who is famed for his unorthodox fashion choices, had earlier examined how he has succeeded as an individual and a family man.
“I have sixteen, not ten, not five, not fifteen but sixteen grandchildren and I believe God has blessed me and my prayer to ordinary Nigerians is that may God bless you,” he had said on the occasion of his 70th birthday.
“Counting my Blessings. My Family, children, health, spiritual alertness, pedigree & heritage, late parents, spiritual guardian, the beauty of my soul, a simple life, a good name. Everyone can find something to be grateful for.”
