ChatGPT users may experience connectivity problems this afternoon, as outages have been reported on Down Detector, a platform that tracks service disruptions. Reports began surfacing about an hour ago.
Affected users are encountering the error message:
“ChatGPT is currently unavailable. Status: Identified – We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix.”
The outage coincides with similar disruptions across Meta-owned platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, earlier today.
OpenAI, the organization behind ChatGPT, acknowledged the issue on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
“We’re experiencing an outage right now. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix. Sorry, and we’ll keep you updated!”
No timeline has been provided for when the service will be fully restored. Users are advised to stay tuned for updates from OpenAI.
