Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has urged his team to focus fully on their next 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.

Nigeria claimed their first win of the qualifying campaign on Friday night, defeating Rwanda’s Amavubi 2-0 at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, with Victor Osimhen netting both goals for the three-time African champions.

The victory lifted Nigeria to fourth place in Group C with six points from five matches.

Looking ahead, the Super Eagles will host Zimbabwe next Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Speaking to reporters after the win over Rwanda, Chelle emphasized the importance of staying focused.

“There’s another game on March 25th, so we need to be ready,” said the Malian coach. “I won’t speak on Rwanda’s weaknesses – my job is to evaluate my players. Analyzing Rwanda is the responsibility of their coach.”
