Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is on the verge of making a surprising move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish shot-stopper’s eagerness to join the ranks of the La Liga giants is so fervent that he is reportedly open to the possibility of a loan deal.

Real Madrid’s pursuit of a new goalkeeper was ignited after their current keeper, Thibaut Courtois, sustained an ACL injury, leaving a void to be filled.

Initially, former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea was speculated to be a top contender for a move to the Bernabeu, especially since he is currently a free agent.

However, renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano unveiled the unexpected development through a tweet, stating: “Real Madrid has now contacted Kepa’s camp — discussions are ongoing with the player keen on the move, Kepa open to joining Real even on loan. Real is working to understand the final formula of the deal wanted by Chelsea.”
