Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is on the verge of making a surprising move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish shot-stopper’s eagerness to join the ranks of the La Liga giants is so fervent that he is reportedly open to the possibility of a loan deal.

Real Madrid’s pursuit of a new goalkeeper was ignited after their current keeper, Thibaut Courtois, sustained an ACL injury, leaving a void to be filled.

Initially, former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea was speculated to be a top contender for a move to the Bernabeu, especially since he is currently a free agent.

However, renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano unveiled the unexpected development through a tweet, stating: “Real Madrid has now contacted Kepa’s camp — discussions are ongoing with the player keen on the move, Kepa open to joining Real even on loan.
