Ms. Chidimma Adetshina has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.
The 23-year-old law student was declared the winner during the grand finale held in Lagos on Saturday, August 31, after competing against 24 other contestants.
Following the evening gown segment, the top five finalists were revealed: Miss Taraba, Chidimma Adetshina; Miss Anambra, Paula Ezendu; Miss Edo, Edeifo Brittany; Miss Ondo, Ayegbidun Peace Olamide; and Miss Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas.
The top three were then announced, with Miss Ondo awarded the title of Miss Lush, Miss Anambra named the first runner-up and Miss Supranational, and Chidimma Adetshina emerging as the overall winner.
Chidimma, who faced significant backlash due to her Nigerian heritage while participating in Miss South Africa 2024, ultimately withdrew from that competition. In response, she was invited to represent Taraba State in the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant.
As the newly crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, she will represent the country at the 73rd Miss Universe competition in Mexico on November 16.
