The Italian giants are on the brink of securing a £28m deal to sign Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze, from Villarreal. The 24-year-old is set to become AC Milan’s seventh signing during the current transfer window.
AC Milan identified Chukwueze as a top target for the upcoming season and has successfully negotiated the transfer with Villarreal, overcoming initial disagreements over the transfer fee. The clubs are now ready to exchange the necessary documents on Monday to finalize the deal.
Last season, Chukwueze showcased his football brilliance, netting 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 50 games for Villarreal. His impressive performance also earned him the fifth spot in successful dribbles among Europe’s top five leagues. These stellar displays caught the attention of AC Milan, who are eager to bolster their squad for the highly competitive season ahead in Italy.
Preparations for the player’s move are already underway. Chukwueze is expected to travel to Milan shortly for medical examinations and to put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the seven-time European champions. The agreed transfer fee stands at £28m, a £7m reduction from Villarreal’s initial asking price of £35m.
