CJN appoints young Idoma lawyer, Ochenehi Commissioner for Oaths

The Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Justice I.U. Bello has sworn in a new Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public.

He is Barrister Dominic Ochenehi.

Barrister Ochenehi was sworn-in at an event held on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the FCT High Court, Abuja.

It could be recalled that the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Muhammad Tanko had, a few days ago, appointed Barrister Ochenehi as Commissioner for Oaths and Notary Public.

By this appointment, the Otukpa-born young lawyer is now closer to the inner bar and has improved his chances of becoming a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in the nearest future.

Barely 24 hours after receiving his handover, Council Caretaker Chairman for Ado Local Government, Hon. James Oche has started his work by, in conjunction with his council, issuing Executive Orders to help rebuild the local government on the frontiers of security, discipline and unity.

The Executive Orders which were issued today, 21st June in Igumale, the Ado Local Government Headquarters bother on security, sanitation, amnesty and the establishment of the Homeland Defense Volunteer Organization.

The document which was signed by the chairman and made available to journalists reads in part.

“All forms of robbery, armed robbery, kidnappings, cultism, thuggery and youth restiveness of whatever sort are hereby banned from Ado Lands and perpetrators have 3 weeks from today, to deliver up arms and submit themselves for proper documentation, reintegration, training and empowerement by Ado Local Government Council.

Sanitation Days being the last Saturday of every month from the hours of 7am – 9am shall be strictly observed by all. To this effect, movement is restricted within the said duration even as the Sanitation Task Force Team shall be empowered to enforce breach of sanitation regulations.

Owners of political bill boards and posters should, within 3 weeks from today remove them. The council would appreciate in a great way if the metal frame work is donated to the Local Government.

There shall be introduced, the Homeland Defense Volunteer Organization with structures in every Council Ward of the Local Government. Interested persons are urged pick forms from the secretary of the security committee- Mr Samuel Obande”

The orders elated the spirit of hundreds who had gathered for his maiden inaugural address and in his keynote address, former commissioner to Benue State Government, Hon. Ekpe Ogbu described Hon. Oche as a young dynamic man who is battle ready to take Ado out of the woods.
