Comedian AY, Davido ‘clash’ over ‘badly delivered’ joke

Comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has issued an apology to Afrobeats sensation Davido after a poorly received joke made during a recent performance in Warri.

AY found himself in hot water when a video surfaced on social media showing him making a joke about Davido and his multiple baby mamas during the performance.

In the video, the comedian requested the DJ not to play Davido’s song ‘Unavailable’ to introduce him, questioning how someone supposedly “unavailable” could father children.

Acknowledging the backlash the joke received, AY took to his official Instagram page to offer a sincere apology to Davido.

He expressed remorse, stating, “I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn’t even call it a joke anymore. It wasn’t funny like it was during my tour of Canada and US and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it.”

AY went on to acknowledge that there’s always room for growth and learning in the entertainment industry. He admitted that the joke was poorly delivered and warranted the negative reactions it garnered. The comedian emphasized his admiration for Davido and expressed his love and support for the artist.
