Prevention they say is better than cure, it was recorded in the past weeks that not less than a thousand persons lost their lives to mudslide in Guatemala, Colombia and Sierra Leone.
Hon. Onche Audi the councilor representing Ewulo ward at the Otukpo local government council thought it wise and necessary to desilt major gutters in his constituency that have been blocked by mud and could possibly lead to flood since water can no longer find proper channels to follow.
The councilor who mobilised youths within the affected areas gave motivational and financial support to those who participated in the environmental sanitation.
The work which have been going on for the past weeks now was indeed a welcomed development according to some residents who came to shower praises on the grassroot law maker for the good work in progress.
According to Owoicho “Hon. Onche is just demonstrating his love and care for the people of his constituency. There is no doubt that he has the people of his ward at heart. We will continue to pray that God continue to bless him for us.
