CONFIRMED: Ronaldo dropped from Portugal’s squad
Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been left out of the national team squad for upcoming international friendlies against Mexico and the United States.
Earlier this month, Jorge Jesus, head coach of Al Nassr, confirmed that the veteran forward travelled to Spain for treatment on a hamstring injury.
The 41-year-old has since missed his club’s Saudi Pro League victories over Neom and Al Khaleej as he continues his recovery.
Ronaldo is now expected to focus fully on regaining fitness, having been deemed not yet match-ready.
Following discussions between his club and the Portuguese national team, it was agreed that the priority is his complete recovery, especially with the World Cup fast approaching.
