Nigerian skit maker Chibuike Josh Alfred, better known as Josh2Funny, has stated the lucrative nature of the content creation industry.
In a recent interview on the Echo Room podcast, he emphasized how successful content creators can easily afford luxury items, citing the potential to own multiple Lamborghini vehicles thanks to the high demand for their work.
“If you want to buy four Lamborghinis from content creation, you can do that,” he stated. “What do you think we’re doing in this industry? Are we joking? You all consume our content daily—whether you’re on your phone in the bathroom or elsewhere. It’s as essential as pure water.”
Josh2Funny also pointed out that businesses generating daily consumption tend to be more profitable because people are constantly engaging with their content.
In a related discussion, Josh2Funny addressed why many Nigerians may not watch his skits. During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, he expressed that his humor can be difficult for some to grasp, requiring a certain level of intellect to appreciate.
“One thing about my jokes is that they often require a higher level of intellect to relate to,” he explained. “That’s why I don’t have a large Nigerian fan base. My style leans toward dry humor, which is the most challenging form of comedy. It’s very real and in-your-face, making it hard for some to understand.”
