Controversy as Buhari shuns Akume, reappoints Boss Mustapha as SGF, Abba Kyari as Chief of Staff

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-appointment of Mr Boss Mustapha as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

He also reappointed Malam Abba Kyari as his Chief of Staff (CoS).

Both appointments take effect from May 29, 2019.

This was contained in a statement forwarded to DAILY POST on Friday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

Earlier, former Governor of Benue State, George Akume was one of those penned down for the SGF job.

Some Nigerians on social media have expressed divergent opinions on the reappointment of Kyari, who has been tagged by many as the ‘de facto president.’

Also, many Benue natives have slammed the president for refusing to consider Akume for he SGF job, having lost his senate seat to Orke Jev of PDP in the last election.

 

One Gbila Joe wrote, “So, after everything, Buhari did not consider Akume for SGF, this man truly hates Benue peopl.”

 

Another wrote, “Buhari reapoints Boss Mustapha as SGF, so he sunned Akume?”

“Buhari has finally shown his true colour to Benue people for refusing to vote him. No SGF for Akume.”
